Task 3: Analyze Graph

Study the lines on the graph representing the absorbed, emitted (radiated) energy, and the difference (net flux). Then write your answers to the questions on the bottom of the graph sheet.

  1. Which line is above the other and what does that tell us?
  2. What does it mean when the absorbed line crosses the emitted line?
  3. What is the significance of the third line?
  4. What word or words best describes the shape of these plots?

  5. Describe what might be responsible for the shape of the graphs. Defend your answer.
