To access the database, click on the link "All Databases" on the main page, or go directly to the database, and follow the instructions below. Population DataTo obtain global urban and rural population data for 5 year periods 1970 to 2000, click on the link Long Term Series (quinquennial) under the heading Population. Select the countries or regions for which data are needed (to make multiple selections, hold the Control key while making selections). Select Population. Select Rural and Urban. Select the years 1970, 1975, 1985, 1990, 1995, and 2000. Press Submit to Database. Production StatisticsTo obtain rice production statistics, click on the link Crops Primary under the heading Agricultural Production. Select the countries for which data is needed (to make multiple selections, hold the Control key while making selections). Select Rice, Paddy. Select Production. Select the year 1990 (or the year to be used). Press Submit to Database to get a chart of rice production data in Metric tons (1 Mt = 1000 kg). To obtain cattle production statistics, click on the link Live Animals under the heading Agricultural Production. Select the countries needed. Select Cattle. Select Stocks. Select the year needed. Press Submit to Database. Export StatisticsTo obtain rice export statistics, click on the link Crops and Livestock Primary and Processed under the heading Agricultural Food and Trade. Select the countries needed. Select Rice. Select Exports-Qty. Select the year needed. Press Submit to Database. To obtain cattle export statistics, click on the link Live Animals under the heading Agricultural Food and Trade. Select the countries needed. Select Cattle. Select Exports-Qty. Select the year needed. Press Submit to Database. Note: Cattle data is for live animals. This is only part of the story since cattle are also processed for beef and beef byproducts. Processed beef is not being included because the data is more difficult to obtain and would be included with live animals. |
